Once upon a time, in a sunny forest, there lived a happy family of sparrows. They built their cozy little nest on a tall tree, where they chirped and sang all day long, enjoying the cool breeze and warm sunshine.
One day, a big elephant wandered into the forest. He wasn’t paying attention to where he was going, and as he walked past the tree where the sparrows lived, his giant foot accidentally bumped into it. The tree shook, and the sparrows’ nest fell to the ground.
The sparrows were very sad. Their home was broken, and they didn’t know how to fix it. Just then, a kind woodpecker, who lived nearby, flew over and said, "Don’t worry, little ones. I’ll help you."
The woodpecker quickly got to work, helping the sparrows rebuild their nest on another strong tree. Soon, the sparrows were chirping happily again, but they still felt upset about what the elephant had done.
The woodpecker had an idea. She flew to her friend, a wise frog, who lived by the pond. "The elephant didn’t mean to hurt the sparrows," said the woodpecker, "but we should teach him to be more careful."
The frog thought for a moment and said, "Let’s wait until the no-moon night when it’s very dark. The elephant will be thirsty, and we can use my croaks to trick him."
The woodpecker agreed, and they waited for the no-moon night. On that night, the forest became pitch dark, and the elephant, feeling thirsty, wandered around looking for water.
As the elephant searched, the frog began croaking loudly near a small ditch. Hearing the croaks, the elephant believed there was water nearby and walked towards the sound. But in the darkness, the elephant couldn’t see the ditch and fell right into it!
The sparrows, the woodpecker, and the frog gathered around the ditch and said, "This is what happens when you are careless and harm others without thinking. You should respect all creatures, big or small."
The elephant, surprised and a little embarrassed, realized his mistake. "I didn’t mean to harm anyone," he said. "I’m so sorry. I’ll be more careful from now on."
With the help of his new friends, the elephant was pulled out of the ditch. He kept his promise and walked gently through the forest from that day on, making sure not to hurt anyone. And the sparrows lived happily in their new nest, singing and chirping every day.
