Once upon a time, in a bright and colourful forest, there lived a crow. One day, the crow found a big, tasty piece of cheese lying on the ground. Feeling very lucky, the crow picked up the cheese in his beak and flew to a tall tree to enjoy his meal.
Just then, a clever fox was walking through the forest and saw the crow with the cheese. The fox’s mouth started watering. "That cheese looks delicious! How can I get it from the crow?" the fox thought.
The fox had an idea. He looked up at the crow and said in a sweet voice, "Oh, dear Crow! You are such a beautiful bird! I’ve never seen such shiny feathers before."
The crow felt very proud. No one had ever called him beautiful before! He puffed up his chest and smiled inside, but he couldn’t say anything because the cheese was in his beak.
The fox, seeing that his plan was working, continued. "And your voice! I bet you have the most wonderful singing voice in the entire forest. Would you sing me a song?"
The crow loved the idea of showing off his voice. He opened his beak to sing, and as soon as he did, the cheese fell from the tree and landed right in front of the fox.
The clever fox quickly picked up the cheese and ran away, saying, "Thank you for the snack, foolish crow!"
The crow realized his mistake. "Oh no! I shouldn’t have been tricked by the fox's sweet words," the crow said sadly. From that day on, the crow decided to be wiser and not let flattery fool him.
